Forget About Forgetting!
Remembering computer passwords to Internet sites is a big problem for everyone. Beth and I use a software program called Roboform.
How it Works: When you install Roboform on your computer, it places a Logins tab on your Internet browser (see photo below). Now, go visit one of your favorite websites that requires you to login with a password.
- Type in your login name and password
- Roboform jumps up on your screen and asks if you would like it to remember that login information and what password you would like to use to protect the information
- Type in a password
- Roboform remembers that information
How to Use It: The next time you are on the Internet and want to go to one of those sites you have recorded in Roboform, click on that Logins tab.
A second screen will drop down that has all the login information you have recorded (see photo below).
The list is in alphabetical order. Now all you do is select the site you want to go to. Roboform will ask for your master password. Type it in.
Roboform then takes you to that site and logs you in. It's that simple.
About Roboform: This inexpensive software program uses high level encryption to protect your login and password information. The "magic" thing about the program is that you only need to remember your master password; Roboform remembers all the other information for you.
There is a free version of Roboform, but it will remember only 10 logins. If you need more than 10, we recommend you buy the full version.
